Hey everyone! I’m excited to bring you the latest tutorial because it will really save your life if you find yourself shooting without a flash. I scheduled this engagement session specifically at sunset so we could capture the sky, but just as it was getting dark, my flash batteries died on me.
As we talked about in previous tutorials, (see Tips to Capturing the Sky in Portrait Photography, or Part 2 of Capturing Blue Skies) it’s impossible to capture a dark sunset sky while exposing your subjects properly because you’ll need them to be bright while you need the sky to be dark.
So you either need a beautiful, expensive source of light on your subject, or you can use this awesome trick in your post processing that saved me!
